RESPONSIBLE DECISION-MAKING: MAKING GOOD DECISIONS –
We make thousands of decisions every day from what we will do the minute we step out of bed in the morning until we choose when to head back there at night. These decisions, whether big or small, impact how we live our lives. When children are young, the adults in their lives make many of their decisions for them, but gradually we need to give them opportunities to make choices for themselves in anything from what clothes to wear, to what things to play and with whom. They will need lots of supported practice in order to be prepared for the ever-increasing and complicated decisions they will make as they get older.
This week the Puppet Kids learn to make a variety of decisions while playing a game, What Would a Leader Do? Your kids will hear the thought processes that the characters make while trying to choose the best actions in a variety of scenarios. After watching the video, you can run off the same board game and play it with your child. It is a fun way to think through possible ways to respond to situations that might very well occur in their own lives.
